Work History

Communication Officer at Initiative Sankofa d’Afrique de l’Ouest (ISDAO)
(2021 – Present)
At ISDAO, I manage the organization’s digital presence and community engagement across public channels, shaping and implementing content strategies that reflect ISDAO’s values and amplify the voices of its movements. My work spans from copywriting, production, and coordination to tracking performance and impact. I also support the writing, curation, and production of strategic knowledge resources such as ISDAO’s Annual Reports, Myria Magazine, and community-led research projects like Doundou and Taffiya. Additionally, I contribute to ISDAO’s strategic advocacy by designing and facilitating sessions and panels at key convenings, including the UN/NGO CSW and the AWID Forum. I also support the management of creative and communications grants, from planning and administration to cultivating meaningful partnerships with grantees.

Director of Advocacy (Prev: Content and Communications Manager) at The Initiative for Equal Rights
(2018 – 2021)
At TIERs, I led advocacy communications and campaigns aimed at influencing policy, advancing legal reform, and driving social behavior change for LGBTQI+ and minority rights in Nigeria. I produced and adapted multimedia content, including graphics, documentaries, talk shows, web series, reports, and blogs, across YouTube, social media, radio, and television. I also developed and executed strategic media initiatives, press engagements, campaigns, conferences, and trainings to strengthen advocacy impact. Beyond content creation, I managed advocacy projects end-to-end, from planning and budgeting to implementation and reporting at both state and national levels. Under my leadership, TIERs’ digital audience grew by over 10,000 followers across platforms, and I designed and led the #AcquitThe57 campaign, which contributed to the dismissal of the Egbeda 57 case.

Following these achievements, I was promoted to lead the intersecting Advocacy and Communications work at TIERs, with a focus on developing compelling advocacy tools and campaigns for LGBTQI+ rights in Nigeria, both online and offline. This expanded role added strategic leadership responsibilities, including defining TIERs’ advocacy goals and designing pathways to achieve them.

Marketing and Corporate Communications Analyst at VFD Group PLC
(2017 – 2018)
At VFD Group, I created and managed content across digital platforms, including websites, blogs, and social media, for the Group and its portfolio companies, including VFD Microfinance Bank, Everdon Bureau de Change, and Anchoria Asset Management. I co-developed and executed marketing campaigns for recruitment, product launches, and go-to-market initiatives, ensuring alignment with the Group’s strategic objectives. I also contributed to the development of marketing communications plans that supported broader business goals. In 2018, I led two major campaigns, the Executive Management Trainee recruitment campaign and the capital raise campaign for the VFD Group Debt Note.
